Disney Media & Entertainment
Led a hands-on software delivery workshop for Disney's web platform team, establishing CI/CD best practices on GKE for infrastructure running Disney.com and other critical web properties — and developing a roadmap for expanding cloud-native adoption across their portfolio.
Challenge
Disney’s web platform team operates critical, revenue-generating infrastructure — including Disney.com. The team had a clear mandate to improve their software delivery practices on Google Cloud, but needed concrete guidance on what mature CI/CD looks like for their specific context. Theory wasn’t the gap; they needed to see what “good” looks like and understand the path from where they were to where they needed to be.
Approach
Designed and delivered an immersive workshop using the full Google Cloud delivery toolset — Cloud Code, Skaffold, Kustomize, and Cloud Build — tailored specifically to Disney’s web platform architecture and workloads.
The session balanced strategic direction with hands-on implementation: concrete examples of enterprise-grade CI/CD implementations for media properties, an assessment of their existing GKE workloads and optimization opportunities, and a “protect and grow” framework for expanding cloud-native adoption without disrupting existing operations.
Results
The team left the workshop with actionable insights for their DevOps transformation and a clear expansion roadmap. The engagement strengthened Disney’s commitment to cloud-native development for their most critical web-facing properties.
“The hands-on workshop provided insights on ‘what good looks like’ with GCP CI/CD products, and it is an important part of our ‘protect and grow’ strategy for an existing GKE workload that runs critical web facing assets, such as Disney.com and others.” — Google Account Team
