Challenge

Tyson Foods was beginning a major application modernization journey and needed to establish the right architectural foundation early. Two critical applications required target state architecture decisions, decisions that would ripple through years of implementation work. Getting them right mattered. Getting them fast mattered equally.

The complexity: multiple stakeholders, deep technical requirements, and the need to make architectural choices that would serve the program's long-term success, not just the immediate phase.

Approach

Led a comprehensive requirements gathering process across both technical and business stakeholders, then designed the target state architecture for each application optimized for Google Cloud. Created a phased implementation plan that balanced technical depth with business continuity, and framed each application's modernization within the context of the broader organizational transformation.

Results

The structured approach delivered: fast architectural decisions that were high-quality because they were grounded in thorough requirements, and an implementation roadmap that the team could execute with confidence.

"Throughout the process of gathering requirements for the 2 applications through determining the 'to-be' architecture of each as well as the implementation plan, Chris added extreme value that allowed fast and high quality decisions to be made ensuring long term success with the project & program.", Google Account Team
